Matthew Ceasar Cruz
Dance Instructor

Matt started street dancing at the age of 7, in the slums of Manila, Philippines, when he first began with party dance craze moves such as the running man, MC Hammer's “typewriter”, and some New Jack Swing with the neighbourhood kids. Instantly a dance crew within the neighbourhood was formed. Matt would create and mimic dance routines to perform at school and anywhere within the neighbourhood. Eventually he migrated to Toronto, Canada in October of 1996. With the new city and setting, Matt took 3 years to get back into the groove, as he was introduced to the art of breakdance during his middle school and high school years. From here, he jumped from crew to crew on a journey to find his true identity and eventually found his way back to the choreography world where it was natural for him to channel his creativity.
Matt is the current co-founder, leader, and choreographer of the Bucc N Flvr Dance Crew. He began teaching in 2010 and has a wide-range of both competitive and professional accomplishments. Awards include 1st Place at Stomp 2010, 2-time 3rd Place at the Canadian Hip Hop Championships, 1st Place at Blackout (MTL) 2011, 1st Place at UDO Canadian Street Dance Championships, and he was also MuchMusic’s NML’s Best Dance Crew Champion in 2012. Matt has also represented Canada at the World Hiphop Championships and at the UDO World Streetdance Championships. Furthermore, Matt was taken under the wing of International Choreographer Lenny Len of Flavorshop (former DoDat and protégé of Luther Brown) in his early years of exploring the professional hip hop world.
Compiling many years of street dance and experience from competitions, battles, and shows, Matt continues his journey to perfect his craft, share his passion, and simply have fun. Matt is currently one of the professional choreographer dancers who teach and mentor Indigenous, First Nations, and Metis communities for the organization "Outside Looking In."
